    Get PDF
Purpose: This paper is an explicit effort to explore the various tenets of Investors’ sentiments in Indian context. The purpose of this paper is to examine the Investors’ Sentiments and to know how investors sentiments affects the choices made by retail investors and to know how demographic characteristics drive investment decisions of individuals.   Methodology: In carrying out this research study a descriptive design is used. A sample of 683 respondents (retail investors) were selected as part of a sample utilizing the snowball (chain referral) method of sampling. The instrument used for collecting primary data is a well-structured questionnaire and it consists of demographic profiles of respondents.   Findings: The attitude of investors’ towards investment decision is influenced by perceived returns, price sensitive information, perceived economic indicators, investors’ confidence and herd behavior. These results emphasize the significance of individual propensities in determining a person’s level of sentiments.   Implications: This study will help financial advisors to better understand the attitudes and behaviors of their clients and also be significant for financial institutions, given to positive economic effects of development of financial sector

Utilizing Immersive Technologies in the Air Traffic Control Domain

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) holds a vital role in the United States, employing over 14,000 Air Traffic Control/Management (ATC/ATM) specialists responsible for managing roughly 43,000 flights each day. ATC education “wash-out” rates have shown that there is a disconnect between the training process and the implementation of cognitively demanding, safety-critical ATC duties. The purpose of this research was to investigate if, how, and where immersive technologies (i.e., augmented, virtual, and mixed reality) could be helpful within the ATC/ATM educational domain. To accomplish the overall research goal, subject matter expert (SME) interviews were conducted and a potential educational tool was developed and tested in two distinct research phases. Eighteen (N = 18) subjects volunteered to participate throughout both phases, and the tool was rated to be above average meaning the tool is usable in its current form; however, further development is suggested and expecte

Estimation of foetal birth weight clinically and sonographically and its correlation with its actual birth weight: a prospective and comparative study

Background: Knowledge of fetal weight in utero is vital for the obstetrician in deciding whether to deliver the fetus as well as in fixing the mode of delivery. Both low birth weight and excessive fetal weight at delivery are associated with increased risk of newborn complications during labor and the puerperium.  During the last decade, estimated fetal weight has been incorporated into the standard routine antepartum evaluation of high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. Objective of present study was to assess the fetal weight in term pregnancies by Clinical and Sonographic and to compare the methods after knowing the actual weight of the baby after birth. Methods: It is a prospective and comparative study of 200 women at term pregnancy at Sir T. Hospital, Bhavnagar, India from 2015 to 2016. Patients within 7 days from their Expected Date of Delivery were included in the study. The formulas used in this study are: Johnson's formula, Dare’s formula and Hadlock's formula using ultrasound. Results: Results vary in terms of accuracy with various methods employed for estimating the fetal weight. This study showed that Dare’s Formula was the best indicator among all other methods assessed followed by Hadlock's formula by ultrasonographic method. Conclusions: SFH measurement continues to be used in many countries on large scale because of its low cost, ease of use and need for little training as the setup for ultrasonographic evaluation is not readily available in rural setups

Effect of incorporation of mint on texture, colour and sensory parameters of biscuits

In recent years, there has been a general trend towards replacing the use of synthetic antioxidant by natural antioxidant, derived from various plants, spices and oil seeds, in processed food. The present study deals in the use of mint (Mentha spicta L) as a source of natural antioxidant in different forms viz, powder, extract, and pure menthol for its application in biscuits. Formulation of mint component was designed based on preliminary studies using various parameters such as instrumental assessment for texture and color measurement and sensory evaluation. The selected levels were as follows 1% mint powder (MNT-P), 500 mg mint extract (MNT-E), and 100 ppm pure menthol (MNT-M) for incorporation in biscuits. The biscuits with different mint forms were packed in unit pouches of metallized polyester/poly laminate and stored at room temperature for five months. The texture value of biscuits with mint powder (MNT-P) received higher scores, comparable with the control (CNT) and BHA (BNT) biscuit indicating their crisp nature. However, color measurement (Delta E) values in MNT-P biscuits were higher followed by MNT-E biscuit due to their green color, whereas the values of MNT-M biscuit were comparable with the CNT and BHA biscuit indicating MNT-M did not impart any change in the color of the biscuit. The sensory scores of MNT-M were higher (P <= 0.05) than MNT-P and MNT-E biscuits. MNT-P variation received significantly higher (P <= 0.05) scores in terms of texture, taste and mouth feel. The results indicate that MNT-P biscuits were highly acceptable compared to MNT-E and MNT-M biscuits

ANALYSIS OF VARIOUS FRONTAL BEAM MATERIAL AND SECTION USED IN PASSENGER VEHICLE

Bumpers play an important role in preventing the impact energy from being transferred to the automobile and passengers. Saving the impact energy in the bumper to be released in the environment reduces the damages of the automobile and passengers. The purpose of a crash analysis is to see how the car will behave in a frontal or sideways collision. Crashworthiness simulation is one typical area of application of Finite-Element Analysis (FEA). This is an area in which non-linear Finite Element simulations are particularly effective. The chassis frame forms the backbone of a heavy vehicle; its principle function is tosafely carry the maximum load for all the designed operating conditions. The frame should support the chassis components and the bod

Disruptions, restorations and adaptations to health and nutrition service delivery in multiple states across India over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020: An observational study.

BackgroundModeling studies estimated severe impacts of potential service delivery disruptions due to COVID-19 pandemic on maternal and child nutrition outcomes. Although anecdotal evidence exists on disruptions, little is known about the actual state of service delivery at scale. We studied disruptions and restorations, challenges and adaptations in health and nutrition service delivery by frontline workers (FLWs) in India during COVID-19 in 2020.MethodsWe conducted phone surveys with 5500 FLWs (among them 3118 Anganwadi Workers) in seven states between August-October 2020, asking about service delivery during April 2020 (T1) and in August-October (T2), and analyzed changes between T1 and T2. We also analyzed health systems administrative data from 704 districts on disruptions and restoration of services between pre-pandemic (December 2019, T0), T1 and T2.ResultsIn April 2020 (T1), village centers, fixed day events, child growth monitoring, and immunization were provided by ConclusionsServices to mothers and children were disrupted during stringent lockdown but restored thereafter, albeit not to pre-pandemic levels. Rapid policy guidance and adaptations by FLWs enabled restoration but little remains known about uptake by client populations. As COVID-19 continues to surge in India, focused attention to ensuring essential services is critical to mitigate these major indirect impacts of the pandemic
